AI Visibility is Amplitude's solution for tracking and improving your brand's presence in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Overview, and Gemini.
Consumers are increasingly using AI assistants instead of traditional search engines to research products. If your brand isn't appearing as a recommendation in AI answers, you risk losing high-intent customers to competitors.
Marketing, SEO, content, and product teams can all benefit. Use AI Visibility to monitor brand mentions, optimize content for AI search, and prove ROI to leadership.
You can access AI Visibility directly inside the Amplitude platform across all plans. Amplitude also provides a limited, free experience to non-customers.
AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. AEO is the practice of optimizing your content so that AI-powered answer engines, like Google AI Overview, surface your brand in their generated responses. Where traditional SEO focuses on ranking in search engine results pages, AEO focuses on appearing in the AI-generated answers that are increasingly replacing those results.
AI Visibility provides a customer dashboard that includes your visibility score, competitive rankings, and the sources large language models use to generate responses.
AI Visibility monitors brand performance in ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini.
Your AI Visibility score represents the percentage of AI-generated responses, across all tracked prompts, that mention your brand.
AI Visibility updates automatically each week. Contact your Amplitude account team to request a custom update frequency.
The free version of AI Visibility doesn't update.

AI Visibility tracks publicly available AI-generated content and doesn't collect personal data from your end users, so it doesn't introduce additional GDPR obligations on its own. Amplitude built its platform to support GDPR compliance. For full details on Amplitude's data privacy and compliance posture, review Trust, Security, and Privacy.
Yes. Amplitude processes any URLs you submit for analysis within your authenticated Amplitude organization. When Amplitude forwards these requests to the LLM endpoint, contractual controls cover them. By contract, Amplitude doesn't retain your analysis requests or use them to build public models.
Amplitude retains customer data for the duration of the subscription. After contract termination, Amplitude retains your information for a 30-day data retrieval period. After that, Amplitude deletes all customer data unless the law requires limited retention.
Amplitude asks LLMs such as ChatGPT to generate likely prompts that marketers might be interested in.
No. OpenAI, Google, and other companies don't share what users are searching. The prompts Amplitude generates come from what LLMs know is relevant to your brand.
Unlimited by category or filter selection. However, your pricing tier limits your total number of prompts.

You can identify activity referred to an application from an LLM or conversational AI tool through either the referrer or the utm_source. Amplitude's advanced out-of-the-box channel classifiers include logic for identifying each. If you already have existing rules, you can replicate this logic within your own rules.
LLM or conversational AI tools don't supply the prompts when these tools refer users to other applications. You can evaluate entry pages for sessions from LLMs to understand which pages on your site most commonly receive direct referrals.

| Plan | Prompts |
|---|---|
| Free/Starter | 500 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI Overview |
| Plus | 1,000 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI Overview |

Identical prompts count as a single prompt, regardless of the LLM. If the prompt is identical across different LLMs, it still counts as a single prompt toward your usage limit.
Unlimited.
Amplitude's RBAC process uses three layers: roles, permissions, and actions. Administrators can assign default or custom roles at the project level. You can assign users and groups to receive view-only, admin, or other permissions sets for each project. This lets you limit who can access each project's AI Visibility analysis.
The AI Visibility dashboard is free and available to all Amplitude customers regardless of plan tier. AI Visibility also generates events to track brand, competitor, and topic performance over time. AI Visibility: Brand Snapshot generates weekly by default. Competitor-specific and topic events are off until you enable them. Each unique brand or competitor that receives events counts toward your project's monthly tracked users (MTU) quota. Enabling competitor events or topic events increases the volume of events sent to your project. Review your plan's MTU limits before enabling additional event types.
Amplitude AI Visibility stands out compared to other Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) tools because of two key differentiators: platform and pricing.
Since AI Visibility is part of the Amplitude platform, it connects with the rest of your org's data to uniquely link AEO insights with ROI. It also uses the platform's capabilities to prioritize recommendations and simulate changes, helping you take action on your insights faster. Other AEO-specific tools are siloed, and since many aren't mature enough to have third-party integration yet, you have to use manual effort to do anything with your AEO data.
Other AEO tools run from moderately to extremely expensive. Amplitude AI Visibility has everything you need to get started for free.
Compared to traditional SEO tools that have recently added AI visibility features, Amplitude AI Visibility stands out because of two differentiators: platform and pricing.
As part of the Amplitude Digital Analytics Platform, AI Visibility connects with the rest of your org's data to uniquely link AEO insights with ROI. It also uses the platform's capabilities to prioritize recommendations and simulate changes, helping you take action on your insights faster. Because other SEO suites are siloed, they require separate integrations or manual effort to do anything with your data.
With other SEO suites, AI visibility comes at an extra cost. Amplitude AI Visibility has everything you need to get started for free.
